Facing A Crisis Part 4
Facing A Perceived Crisis Part 4
Lesson Objective: This is the fourth and final lesson on Facing A Crisis. This lesson concludes with the actions that should be taken by a Christian when facing a perceived crisis.
Scripture: Then the Levites of the children of the Kohathites and of the children of the Korahites
stood up to praise the Lord God of Israel with voices loud and high. And they rose early
in the morning and went out into the Wilderness of Tekoa; and as they went out,
Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Hear me, O Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem:
Believe in the Lord your God, and you shall be established. Believe His prophets, and
you shall prosper.” And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed those who
should sing to the Lord, and who should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out
before the army and were saying: “Praise the Lord, For His mercy endures forever.”
(2 Chronicles 20: 19-21)

- What causes us not to obey God’s instruction
- Disbelief (Hebrews 3:17-19) Now with whom was He angry forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose corpses fell in the wilderness? And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who did not obey? So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.
- (Mark 16:14) Later He appeared to the eleven as they sat at the table; and He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had
risen.
- What causes us not to obey God’s instruction
- (1 John 5:10) He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe
God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son.
- Obey God (James 1:22-25) But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.
- REVERSE THE CURSE(2 Chronicles 20:25)
When Jehoshaphat and his people came to take away their spoil, they found among them
an abundance of valuables on the dead bodies, and precious jewelry, which they stripped
off for themselves, more than they could carry away; and they were three days gathering
the spoil because there was so much.
- Perceived Crisis changes from curse to blessing
- Thunderstorm becomes a rainbow
- Ester 7: 9-10 And Harbonah, one of the chamberlains, said before the king, Behold also, the gallows fifty cubits high, which Haman had made for Mordecai, who spoken good for the king, standeth in the house of Haman. Then the king said, Hang him thereon.10 So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. Then was the king’s wrath pacified
