Christ Fellowship
Lesson Objective: To continue the discussion on the importance of Fellowship with the emphasis on fellowship with Christ today.
1 John 1:3 “that which we have seen and heard we proclaim also to you, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed jour fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ”. Attending Church is not just a trip to the Church building. The Church is only a building where we meet together. The Church is the collection of Christians who come together to fellowship and recognize that we are communing with Christ. In fact, one could strongly argue that Christ is the Church and as such when we gather together we are becoming one in Christ. Fellowship with Christ is like getting the nourishment that will provide us the necessary sustenance to get through this journey called life. The Bible says that when two or more are gathered together that Christ is with us. Matthew 18:20. Therefore the strength of true fellowship is not between the individuals present but enhanced by Christ being among us.
Thought for the Day: Would you want to miss a date with Christ?

Church Fellowship
Lesson Objective: To continue the discussion on the importance of Fellowship with the emphasis on Church fellowship today.
There are many people who would argue that they do not need to attend Church and that they get fulfillment by listening to televangelists on television or through the internet. While I would never suggest that one should not look at televangelists, I strongly suggest that this does not take the place of Church fellowship. Fellowship by definition is an interaction between two or more people. There is no interaction between the tv or the internet thus there can be no fellowship. Hebrews 10: 24-25 . And zlet us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25 anot neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and ball the more as you see Day drawing near. Three major reasons for Church fellowship is to demonstrate true Christian love, offer encouragement and pray together. Life can be tough sometimes and we all need to know that we are loved and to feel that love. and allow that love to be demonstrated through encouragement. We all have days or weeks when everything seems to be going wrong and we become despondent. This can become an overwhelming problem but we can get some relief by just having a brother or sister reassure us that all will be well. Prayer goes without saying. It is better to say that I will pray with you rather than say that I will pray for you. I learned this from my pastor who said that if someone asked him to pray for them that he stopped whenever possible and prayed with the person.
Thought for the Day: Which do you miss most when you do not attend Church service, the sermon, or the friendships (smile). ?

The importance of Fellowship
Lesson Objective: This week we will be discussing the importance of fellowship.
Scripture: Acts 2: 42 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.
Fellowship is found in the New Testament about 17 times and comes from the Greek word Koinonia . The dictionary defines Fellowship as a friendly feeling that exists between people who have a shared interest or who do something as a group. Almost by extension, one could strongly suggest that true fellowship is tied to being friendly towards each other. This friendly feeling is not just to be sought in the Church but also in the other facets of our lives including work, school and especially family. The early Church grew as a result of this daily fellowship and we should use this model in our daily lives. During this week we will look at the importance of fellowship and how it can strengthen our relationships.
Thought for the Day: Do you take the time to fellowship or are you too busy?
