Are You Qualified Part II? 90 Day Probationary Period Lesson Objective:  To look at how we develop the skill sets necessary to be good and productive workers for God Scripture:  Mark 4:2-9 (parable of the sower) What Is the purpose of a probationary period? For the employee to determine if they fit in the company .Judges 7: 2-3 The LORD said to Gideon, “You have too many men. I cannot deliver Midian into their hands, or Israel would boast against me, ‘My own strength has saved me.’ 3 Now announce to the army, ‘Anyone who trembles with fear may turn back and leave Mount Gilead.’ ” So twenty-two thousand men left, while ten thousand remained. Matthew 12: (family member) 47-49 Someone told Him, “Look, Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to speak to You.” 48But Jesus replied, “Who is My mother, and who are My brothers?” 49Pointing to His disciples, He said, “Here are My mother and My brothers.… Pick up equipment and begin training Armour of God Ephesians 6: 10-18 Be assigned a mentor or identify a mentor (prayer partner- more seasoned Christian 1 Peter 2: 2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby. What happens in 90 days? We can be accepted as permanent employees Matthew 25:23 ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Enter into the joy of your master!’ Our probation period can be extended Hebrews 5:12 Although by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to reteach you the basic principles of God's word. You need milk, not solid food! We can be fired 1 Samuel 15: 26 But Samuel said to him, “I will not go back with you. You have rejected the word of the Lord, and the Lord has rejected you as king over Israel!” Acts 5: 1-2 Now a man named Ananias, together with his wife Sapphira, also sold a piece of property. 2 With his wife’s full knowledge he kept back part of the money for himself, but brought the rest and put it at the apostles’ feet. What happens now We have what it takes to become a permanent full time employee but it is up to us to use what God has givem us. Matthew 25: 29 For to everyone who has will more be given, and he will have an abundance. But from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away. 30 And cast the worthless servant into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’
