Facing A Crisis part 2

Facing A Crisis Part 2 Lesson Objective: To understand that what we often see as a crisis is really nothing but a molehill. This lesson will review some of the steps we can take when we think we are facing a crisis by seeking God. This is the second in the series on how to face a crisis. Scripture: O Lord God of our fathers, are You not God in heaven and do You not rule over all the kingdoms of the nations, and in Your hand is there not power and might, so that no one is able to withstand You?” (2 Chronicles 20:6) Review There are six steps when facing a crisis STEP ONE REPLACING FEAR WITH FAITH STEP TWO: RISE UP TO SEIZE YOUR DESTINY STEP THREE: REFOCUS YOUR ATTENTION STEP FOUR REJECT REASON FOR REVELATION STEP FIVE: RESPOND IN OBEDIENCE STEP SIX REVERSE THE CURSE We discussed replacing fear with faith Fear acronym False Evidence Appearing Real Faith acronym For Anything Impossible Trust Him, Fully Anticipating It To Happen For All Issues Trust HIM Full Assurance In Trusting Him Firmly And Intentionally Trusting Him We identified three steps to replace fear with faith Hear God’s voice Keep our minds on God Act on that Faith Step Two - RISE UP TO SEIZE YOUR DESTINY We must get up and arise and face the enemy (crisis) God told Abraham to arise, walk the length and width of the land promised to him, and claim it (Genesis 13:17). -Moses was commanded to “rise up early in the morning” to stand before Pharaoh to plead Israel’s deliverance (Exodus 8:20). -“Moses my servant is dead,” God told Joshua. “Now therefore, arise, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them” (Joshua 1:2) “Arise, let us go up against them. For we have seen the land, and indeed it is very good. Would you do nothing? Do not hesitate to go, and enter to possess the land.” (Joshua 18:9) Arise is both spiritual and physical There is a special place The lesson discusses the example in the Bible where God instructed people where to go to communicate with him ...and (you) have built You a sanctuary in it for Your name, saying, “If disaster comes upon us-- sword, judgment, pestilence, or famine-- we will stand before this temple and in Your presence (for Your name is in this temple), and cry out to You in our affliction, and You will hear and save.” (In the past some people called it the prayer closet While it is appropriate to say that our body is the temple of God thus we can pray anywhere there is nothing wrong with identifying a special place if possible for special prayer Special prayer “I am the temple of God and your presence dwells within me because your Name is written upon my heart. You said your eyes would be open toward this temple day and night, toward the place where You said You would put Your name. You said when there were disasters of the sword, judgment, pestilence, or famine that you would hear the prayer made in this place. I stand there spiritually--in that place--boldly claiming your promises to hear and save me. In Jesus Name, Amen!” Step 3 Refocus Your Attention What is the primary component of a magician’s trick? We can not become distracted which can be easily done We begin to concentrate on the crisis and not on God Businesses understand that too many times we spend too much time discussing the problem and not enough time discussing the solution We do the same in our personal relationships which never addresses the problem. We must focus on God ( truly seeking God) Why? We must be totally reliant on God when facing a crisis 2 Chronicles 20: 12 Our God, will you not judge them? For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.” Summary Replace Fear with faith Arise and get ready for battle Refocus our attention on God - Seeking God
