Question and Answer Sunday

Question and Answer Sunday Lesson Objective:  To answer various questions using Bible references HOW DID CHRIST TEACH? Method 1 -  Lecture Type Matthew 5: 1 Now when Jesus saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him, 2 and he began to teach them. Matthew 7: 28 When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at his teaching, 29 because he taught as one who had authority, and not as their teachers of the law Method 2  Experience Lesson Luke 10: 1-2 After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go. He told them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field Method 3  Question and Answer Matthew 18: 1 At that time the disciples came to Jesus and said, “Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” Matthew 22: 16-40 And they *sent their disciples to Him, along with the Herodians, saying, “Teacher, we know that You are truthful and teach the way of God in truth, and defer to no one; for You are not partial to any. Tell us then, what do You think? Is it lawful to give a poll-tax to Caesar, or not?” ………………… Question `1 Genesis 4: 3-5 And [c]in the process of time it came to pass that Cain brought an offering of the fruit of the ground to the Lord. 4 Abel also brought of the firstborn of his flock and of their fat. And the Lord respected Abel and his offering, 5 but He did not respect Cain and his offering. And Cain was very angry, and his countenance fell. Why did God not accept the sacrifice of Cain? The Bible does not say exactly Hebrews 9: 21-22 In the same way, he sprinkled with the blood both the tabernacle and everything used in its ceremonies. 22 In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness Question 2 Genesis 2: 24 That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one In marriage many say 1 + 1 but should it say .5+.5?   Question 3 Genesis 12: 7 The LORD appeared to Abram and said, “To your offspring I will give this land.” So he built an altar there to the LORD, who had appeared to him Who was speaking? What is the significance of the altar? Who was speaking? God spoke directly to Abraham and sometimes via Angels but this passages suggest God directly Significance of Altar- Altar was built to identify an important event either for sacrifice or celebration and place of worship Altar significance today The altar is our heart The altar can be your prayer closet Altar gives sense of direction when we forget Question 4 Genesis 14: 18 And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God Question- Do we have priest in the new testament other than Christ? Zechariah father of John the Baptist Ananias High Priest that oversaw Paul Role of High Priest Presiding officer of the Sanhedrian Only one allowed to enter Holy of Holies once a year Day of Atonement Led in worship One of the 24 “courses” 1 Chronicles chapter 24 Mediator between God and man
