Short Study Book of John Part 4

Short Study Book Of John Part 4 Lesson Objective: To continue to learn how John shows Christ as the Savior Scripture:  John Chapters 8-10 Chapter 8 Woman who committed adultery John 8:3-4 “And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst," "They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act." Was this an attempt to discredit Christ in front of those who he was teaching? Why did they not also bring the man to Christ? Christ response based on scripture Genesis 17: 6-7 On the testimony of two or three witnesses a man shall be put to death, but he shall not be executed on the testimony of a lone witness. 7The hands of the witnesses shall be the first in putting him to death, and after that, the hands of all the people. You must purge the evil from among you What does this tell us about judging and being judged? Continuation of discussion of who is Christ verse 13-end of the chapter John 6: 35 And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life.He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall neverthirst John 8: 12 When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life. Moses said to God, “Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ Then what shall I tell them?” 14 God said to Moses, “I am who I am.[c] This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I am has sent me to you.’” Chapter 9  Healing of the Blind man John 9:3 “Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him." We do not need to understand or explain everything in life. Some people spent more time trying to find reasons to not believe than praising the man’s healing. John 9:14 “And it was the sabbath day when Jesus made the clay, and opened his" They were more concerned about the law than the man. John 9: 17-34 They continue to confront him about Christ The man wants to believe John 9:36 “He answered and said, Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on Him? John 9:37 “And Jesus said unto him, Thou hast both seen him, and it is he that talketh with thee." John 9:38 “And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him." Chapter 10 Christ continues his dialogue John 10: 7  Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. John 10:9 “I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture." John 10:11 “I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
