Words of Wisdom to Live By Lesson Objective: To discuss a few points of wisdom as written by King Solomon Scripture: Proverbs Chapter 15 Introduction 1. Do we take the time to listen to wisdom? 2. Are we busy just asking questions? a. Closed questions b. Open questions Points to ponder: 15: 1 A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger a. Should we always tell the truth? b. Explain stone sharpens stone 15:10 Stern discipline awaits anyone who leaves the path; the one who hates correction will die a. Do you readily provide discipline? b. Do you readily accept discipline? 15: 18 A hot-tempered person stirs up conflict, but the one who is patient calms a quarrel. a. How does this compare to the definition of love? b. How does this compare to fruit of the Spirit? 15: 19 The way of the sluggard is blocked with thorns, but the path of the upright is a highway. a. Please give examples of thorns b. Why is the path of upright a highway? 15:22 Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed a. Is it possible to have too many advisors? b. How can we use advisors incorrectly? 15:28 The heart of the righteous weighs its answers, but the mouth of the wicked gushes evil. a. What are some of the results of weighing answers? b.
