Second Week January 2020
Friday 10th January 2020.
Thursday, January 9th 2020
Tuesday January 7th 2020.
2nd Commandment( Exodus 20:4-6).
Remove all idols.
Anything that takes the first place in our lives but God are idols.
What consume much of our times? What do we consacrate our energy and thought towards? Think of those questions a moment. Fame, fortune, power, beauty, career, relationships, a position, ourself, fun things of life, people, food, …
In Exodus 20: 4-5. God is once again reminding us to get rid of anything that clogs our lives and hinder His operation in us. Many times in the bible, God has punished His people for worshipping other gods.
To be trully victorious this year, and today we have to surrender to God’s authority and yield to His will and Have no other God but Him. God requires obediance from us.
He promise Blessings in abundance that will go up to 1000s generation for those who honor Him. Our decision to put order in our relationship with God will affect not only us today but the many generation to come. Let’s make the right decision and trust God that as We delight in Him, He will give us the desire of our Heart (Psalm 37:4).
Prayer: Heavenly Father, show us what needs to be renounced and unseated from the throne of our lives. Give us the ability to obey your conviction, and the strength Lord to follow through and never pick them up again. By your grace and mercy, make us victorious today.
In Jesus name.
Be glorified in our lives.
Amen.
THOUGHT OF THE DAY – JANUARY 6TH 2020
Exodus 20:1-3 (The ten commandment)
“1And God spoke all these words: 2 “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. 3 “You shall have no other gods before[a] me.”
The fact that we are alive and that we can plan, dream, schedule, choose and enjoy what we call our lives is because we have GOD. He is above all, and no one can compare to Him. He is the one who holds all things together and without Him nothing can exist or happen. We owe Him everything. God deserve our love, respect, all of who we are.
We often think and act as if we have control and that it is us who choose what goes and what stays, but today we are reminded that there in a SUPREME, ALMIGHTY God who is Above all. He is Holy, He can’t be mixed with others. He is the one who saves and He is the one who protects. He is the only one who has a say to what goes and what stays under heaven and we jeopardize our lives when we forgot about His ultimate position and fit Him in our lives. He is a loving God, He understands, He is Happy as long as He is in my life whatever the position I give Him: we don’t say these but often mean it when we allow everything else to get our attention, affection, our time, even ourselves. When we can’t be still or patient to be in His presence, we throw Him a quick prayer and then we are in a rush to face all the big things of life. These are the reasons why we don’t fully advance and enjoy God’s blessings in our lives. Because we neglect the One who is the source of it all.
GOD is the biggest, the Supreme in our lives, He deserves and demand our reverence, for He is Holy, He is Almighty, He is compassionate but He can get offended as well. Let us not forget that. He demands we love and respect Him. When God leads the way, all is well (Proverbs 23:26/ Proverbs 3:5-6). God never follow or second nothing and nobody. Let’s reorganize things today and restore Him where he should have always been : on the throne of our heart.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, forgive us for the way we live. Thinking that as long as you are in our lives then that’s all that matter. Forgetting that you are Holy, You are Elohim, you are Supreme and no one come close or compare to you. Today Lord, establish your divine order in our lives, teach us to love you with all our heart, mind, strength, soul, that all shall be well with us. Holy Spirit seal it in our Soul that we will never forget it.
