God testified concerning him: ‘I have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart; he will do everything I want him to do.’   Introduction- Who was David? Perhaps more written about David than any one man in the Old Testament The lineage of Christ Greatest King of Israel Man after God’s own heart Acts 13: 22 and 1 Samuel 13: 14 Why man after God’s own heart? “As water reflects a face, so a man’s heart reflects the man” Proverbs 28:14 For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of” Luke 6:45. What more can he get but the kingdom?” 9 And from that time on Saul kept a close eye on David. 1 Samuel 18: 6-8 Saul tries to have David killed 1 Samuel 18: 17  Saul said to David, “Here is my older daughter Merab. I will give her to you in marriage; only serve me bravely and fight the battles of the Lord.” For Saul said to himself, “I will not raise a hand against him. Let the Philistines do that!” Jonathan and David make another oath Jonathan said to David, “Go in peace, for we have sworn friendship with each other in the name of the Lord, saying, ‘The Lord is witness between you and me, and between your descendants and my descendants forever.’” Then David left, and Jonathan went back to the town 1 Samuel 20: 42 David begins his journey of deceit David lies cause a death 1 Samuel 21: 1
