Thoughts for the Day December second week

THOUGHT OF THE DAY

FRIDAY 13th DECEMBER

THEME: SWEET HOLY SPIRIT

OPENING VERSE: 1 Corinthians 2:11-12 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

Christianity is a revelation revealed to us by the Holy Spirit. John 5:39 You search and investigate and pore over the Scriptures diligently, because you suppose and trust that you have eternal life through them. And these [very Scriptures] testify about Me! The scriptures testify of Him and they ought to lead us into an encounter with our Messiah. Jesus Christ is the word made flesh and we have to engage Him (word) to truly know Him and that’s the work of the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is the one who makes the information we read go from just information to revelations and revelations are invitations into the deeper, it is God beckoning us to take a step further into His presence, He desires to take us deep into His presence. Every time we read His word we need to engage the word because it is an opportunity for us to have an encounter with Jesus Christ we don’t just stop there but we allow the Holy Spirit to guide and usher us into the Holies of Holies because no man no matter how anointed He is knows the way into the presence of God except through His Spirit- He is the Holiness Spirit.

Amennnnn

May we never neglect the Sweet Holy Spirit because Christianity is not a religion but a relationship.

How we love the Spirit of God

THOUGHT OF THE DAY

THURSDAY 12th DECEMBER

THEME: KINDNESS AND GOODNESS

OPENING VERSE: Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the [Holy] Spirit [the work which His presence within accomplishes] is love, joy (gladness), peace, patience (an even temper, forbearance), kindness, goodness (benevolence), faithfulness,

God tells us that Kindness and Goodness are fruits of the Spirit. It’s not about personality or character but it’s a result of the indwelling of the Spirit of God in our lives- it’s more than our Personality it’s Christ character revealed and manifested through our lives.

Before we accepted Christ as our Lord we had every right to justify our unkind behaviors because of where we came from, But when we became born again, our Source changed because now we are not born of the (corrupt) world but we are born of God, Born of the Spirit.

You know flowers are able to change the color of their petals according to the color of the water they are submerged in. When you put them in blue water they absorb this water and the petals become blue and if you continue to change the water so will their petals- THEY REFLECT THEIR SOURCE. We too are in every way called to Reflect and represent our source, represent What and Whom we have in us.

Our lives should be an expression of our God, of His loving kindness.

Experiences should no longer make us but should rather allow us to reflect the God we have in us- Look at the life of Paul who was wounded for the sake of the Gospel yet he was still able to not allow that to depict how he acted. Kindness is no small thing. [IT IS A FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT]It yields marvelous fruit both in our lives and the lives of those around us.

Proverbs 21:21 “Whoever pursues righteousness and kindness will find life, righteousness, and honor”

Have an Amazing Blessed week-Don’t forget to always  be kind and good to those around us.

THOUGHT OF THE DAY

WEDNESDAY 11th DECEMBER

THEME: OPEN VESSELS FOR GODS LOVE

OPENING VERSE: God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them.(1 John 4:16)

We love because God first loved us. God defines love and is the very definition of love. So love cannot exist outside the knowledge of God and can’t be fully expressed without intimacy with Him. It’s like an aroma and through intimacy and closeness with the Father His Nature, Himself (Love) is fully rubbed off on you and you begin to walk and express it and people around you can physically smell this sweet fragrance and by this they know that we are sons of The Living God.

John 13:35 By this shall all [men] know that you are My disciples, if you love one another [if you keep on showing love among yourselves].

The proof that we are Christians does not come through our knowledge of Scripture, from our spiritual gifts or even our church attendance, but only by how much of God’s Love we are sharing. The true genuine love we share and I say genuine because God looks at the HEART. Not pretense.

we become one with the word and everywhere we go we are carriers of Gods love(His presence). We remind people of His love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them.(1 John 4:16)

CONFESSION:

We will be Imitators of Christ actively living His love, continuously being reminded that we are on a Kingdom Agenda- Heavens Agenda setting aside our own carnal desires and fulfilling Your very purpose through us. Yes We will be open vessels where Your love not only abides in us but it flows through us. The world will know You because we will walk and abide in You and be the very demonstration of the fullness of Jesus Christ in us.

Thought of the Day

Tuesday 10th DECEMBER

THEME : FREEDOM FROM THE POWER OF SIN

Opening verse: 1 John 5:4 For whatever is born of God is victorious over the world; and this is the victory that conquers the world, even our faith.

Who is born of God:

1 John 5:1 EVERYONE WHO believes (adheres to, trusts, and relies on the fact) that Jesus is the Christ (the Messiah) is a born-again child of God; and everyone who loves the Father also loves the one born of Him (His offspring).

John explains to us that all we have to do is to believe in Christ Jesus, to believe in His finished work and we are born of God

Our real victory comes from the fact that through baptism we’ve died with Christ-

Romans 6:7 For when a man dies, he is freed (loosed, delivered) from [the power of] sin [among men].

It was through Christ death that He overcame the power of death(sin). He has completely utterly abolished death- in His presence it is illegal.

And when we were resurrected we were resurrected into a new creature, now no longer born of the world or of the first Adam but born of God, Born of His word- Hallellujjaahhh born into complete newness of life with no relation or connection to sin. Jesus didn’t come to give us half salvation, He came to give us His Life the complete perfect God life.

Having this mentality allows us to not settle but to press on and live a great life

Amen

Monday 9th December

Theme: Disciplined by our Father

Opening Verse: Hebrews 12:6 For the Lord corrects and disciplines everyone whom He loves, and He punishes, even scourges, every son whom He accepts and welcomes to His heart and cherishes.

12:7 You must submit to and endure [correction] for discipline; God is dealing with you as with sons. For what son is there whom his father does not [thus] train and correct and discipline?

We can’t look at God as our Father yet oppose Him disciplining us-that is the very essence of Fatherhood(parenthood). Discipline is driven by and in love and the Bible tells us that He disciplines those He loves and shows that indeed we are sons and daughters of God. Him disciplining us is a direct indication of His involvement in our lives. How sad would it be if He just left us to wonder of as though we weren’t sheep in His pasture.
