Christ In Me

Sermon: Christ in me Introduction Galatians 2 v 20: I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me. • What does it mean to be crucified with Christ? • Understanding Christ’s sacrifice • The world can only see Christ through us otherwise the Bible is just a library of history books Body 1. What does it mean to be crucified with Christ? What do you fight for? Matthew 6 v 21: for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. What are you afraid of? Fear is a consequence of disbelief. Romans 8 v 5: For those who are in accord with the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are in accord with the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 2. Understanding God’s gracious gift. Galatians 2 v 21: I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain. Galatians 3 v 11: But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. Roman 8 v 15: For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. Remember the day you repented, you heard God and you believed Romans 8 v 14: For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. 3. A lesson from adolescent David Goliath about 2.7m tall called out for Israel’s Champion Men of Israel were afraid David the youngest son of 8 sons was sent to bring food to his three eldest brothers Everyone saw a Giant David saw an uncircumcised Philistine. Eliab saw his little bro he didn’t see the Christ in him Faith may give you a unique perspective, faith may only be evident to you if you believe anyway Christ will live in you. The death of Goliath was not the greatest thing that happened that day. Conclusion • Repent • Dwell in fellowship with God • Believe in the promises of God
