How To Use Our Senses To Make Sense
How To Use Our Five Senses To Make Sense Lesson Objective: To study how using our five senses can get us into trouble without using our sixth sense. Scripture: Genesis 13: 10-11; What we see with our eyes can get us into trouble Lot chose land with his eyes. Genesis 13: 10-11 And Lot looked out and saw that the whole plain of the Jordan, all the way to Zoar, was well watered like the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt. (This was before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.) 11So Lot chose the whole plain of the Jordan for himself and set out toward the east. And Abram and Lot parted company. David and Bathsheba 2 Samuel 11: 2 One evening David got up from his bed and walked around on the roof of the palace. From the roof he saw a woman bathing. The woman was very beautiful, Our mouth can get us into trouble Adam and Eve ate from the forbidden tree Genesis 3:6 When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. Peter gets into trouble because of his mouth Mark 8: 31-33 He then began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and after three days rise again.32 He spoke plainly about this, and Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. 33 But when Jesus turned and looked at his disciples, he rebuked Peter. “Get behind me, Satan!” he said. “You do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns.” Having ears does not mean that we hear The Isrealites did not hear Hebrews 4:2 For to us was the gospel preached, as well as to them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. Saul heard the wrong people 1 Samuel 15:24 Then Saul said to Samuel, "I have sinned. I violated the LORD's command and your instructions. I was afraid of the men and so I gave in to them. Touch can kill Uzziah dies because he touched the ark 2 Samuel 6: 6-7 But when they came to the threshing floor of Nacon, Uzzah reached out toward the ark of God and took hold of it, for the oxen nearly upset it.7 And the anger of the Lord burned against Uzzah, and God struck him down there for his irreverence; and he died there by the ark of God Remember touching can lead you down a forbidden path What is the difference between boy/girl friend relationships and friend relationships? Smell can deceive Isaac is deceived by the smell of Jacob Genesis 27:27 So he went to him and kissed him. When Isaac caught the smell of his clothes, he blessed him and said………. Sixth Sense John 14:26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, HE WILL TEACH YOU ALL THINGS, and bring to your remembrance all things that I have said to you. John 16:13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, HE WILL GUIDE YOU INTO ALL TRUTH Jeremiah 15:16 Your words were found, and I ate them, And Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart; For I am called by Your name, O Lord God of hosts. Ezekiel 3:3 And He said to me, “Son of man, feed your belly, and fill your stomach with this scroll that I give you.” So I ate, and it was in my mouth like honey in sweetness 1 John 4:1 Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
