On the Mark.. Get set.. Get ready… Go

On the Mark.. Get set.. Get ready… Go Lesson Objective:  For each of us to take this time to self-evaluate as we get ready for 2022. Scripture:  Isaiah 43: 18-19 Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old. 19 Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert. Introduction There is no such thing as a brand new start We must learn from the past Bad – we discard Good – Build on it (SWOT) Strength- What do we think we do well in our Spiritual walk Weakness- Where do we fail to meet the mark Opportunities- Where can we seize the opportunities that God presents to us Threats- What may be lurking around the corner that will give us a problem Are we prepared for the coming year? A marathon runner does not get up and run 26 miles the first time 1 Corinthians 9: 24-25 Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. 25 Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. A little more each time in preparation James 1:2-6 “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds. because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. Any problems from last year is part of the preparation Proper attitude of rejoicing Phillipians 4: 4 Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Ways to prepare Pray that we see God’s path in our lives 1 Thessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing Study the Bible Matthew 4:4 Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” Keep the Faith 2 Timothy 4: 7 “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:” Work- James 2:17 “Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.”   Summary Preparation for God’s blessings here but more importantly preparation for eternal salvation. Romans 15: 13   May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
