What is the Purpose of JICF
What is the Purpose of Jinan International Christian Fellowship Lesson Objective: To discuss the purpose of Jinan ICF and demonstrate ways where the Church meets the purposes Scripture: Matthew 20:28 and Mark 10:45 Introduction a. How many people go through life trying to “what we call” find their purpose in life? b. Church is actually a collection of people and thus should have a shared purpose so that all can come together as one body in one shared vision. c. It is important that all understand and share this vision Purpose 1 1. Be a place where Christians can come together and worship God and upbuild each other in Christian love - **Hebrews 10:24-25 (NIV):** "And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching." - **Matthew 18:20 (NIV):** "For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them." - **1 Corinthians 14:26 (NIV): "What then shall we say, brothers and sisters? When you come together, each of you has a hymn, or a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation. Everything must be done so that the church may be built up." How do we accomplish this purpose? • Sunday service • Weekly Bible Studies • Website • Podcast • Fellowship outings such as game nights Purpose 2 2. Develop leaders - **2 Timothy 2:2 (NIV):** "And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others." - **Ephesians 4:11-13 (NIV):** "So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ." - **1 Peter 5:2-3 (NIV):** "Be shepherds of God's flock that is under your care, watching over them—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve; not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock." 1 Timothy 4:12 (NIV): "Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity." How do we accomplish this purpose? • Bible Institute • Young Ministers Group • Leadership Seminar Purpose 3 3. Provide mission support in other countries - **Matthew 28:19-20 (NIV):** "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." - **Acts 1:8 (NIV):** "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." - **Psalm 96:3 (NIV):** "Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples."
