Where To Fellowship?

Where To Fellowship?

Where to Fellowship Lesson Objective:  To be able to identify the varied factors when choosing a place of fellowship. Scripture: Ephesians 4: 4-6 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. Introduction – Reminder of the need to fellowship Acts 2: 42 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Hebrews 10: 24-25  And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching Factors considered by many Denominations 1 Corinthians 1: 10-13 I appeal to you, brothers and sisters,[a] in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought. 11 My brothers and sisters, some from Chloe’s household have informed me that there are quarrels among you. 12 What I mean is this: One of you says, “I follow Paul”; another, “I follow Apollos”; another, “I follow Cephas[b]”; still another, “I follow Christ.”  Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Were you baptized in the name of Paul? Mark 9: 38-41 Teacher,” said John, “we saw someone driving out demons in your name and we told him to stop, because he was not one of us.” 39 “Do not stop him,” Jesus said. “For no one who does a miracle in my name can in the next moment say anything bad about me, 40 for whoever is not against us is for us. 41 Truly I tell you, anyone who gives you a cup of water in my name because you belong to the Messiah will certainly not lose their reward. Divisions within the Jewish community were not new. Pharisees, Sadducees, Essenes, and Zealots   Geography How close is it to where you live Church Size Small or Large Family Preference Children's Ministry Fellowship together Friends or other relationships Church teachings Is it Biblically based Is it consistent with your beliefs What is the major focus of the Church Summary Romans 12:4-6 "For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ, we though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith Find a place where you can use your gift to upbuild the Kingdom of God Understand that you do not have to agree with everyone there but never compromise on the Main Thing.       .
